This article addresses specific autobiographical issues pertaining to Heinz Kohut, his sense of heroism, and his attitudes toward homosexuality. The author draws, in part, from the work of Charles Strozier in exploring the relationship between heroism and homosexuality in the work of Kohut. The article concludes that a relationship exists between Kohut's theories and his sexual and love experiences and that Kohut was a psychoanalytic pioneer in his acceptance of the “homosexualities.” TRANSLATIONS OF ABSTRACT Este articulo aborda aspectos especificos de la biografia de Heinz Kohut, su sentido del heroismo, y sus actitudes en relacion a la homosexualidad. En parte se utiliza la obra de Charles Strozier para explorar la relacion entre heroismo y homosexualidad en la obra de Kohut. El articulo concluye que hay una relacion entre las teorias de Kohut y sus experiencias amorosas y sexuales, y que Kohut fue un psicoanalista pionero en la aceptacion de las “homosexualidades” Cet article pose des questions autobiographiques specifiques au sujet de Heinz Kohut, de son sens de l'heroisme, et de ses attitudes envers l'homosexualite. L'auteur se fonde en partie sur l'œuvre de Charles Strozier pour explorer la relation entre l'heroisme et l'homosexualite dans l'œuvre de Kohut. Der Autor bezieht sich auf spezifische Aspekte der Nachforschungen von Charles Strozier, der der Beziehung zwischen Heroismus und Homosexualitat im Werk von Kohut nachgeht. Die Arbeit kommt zu dem Schluss, dass es eine Verbindung zwischen Kohuts Theorien und seinen sexuellen und Liebeserfahrungen gibt, und dass Kohut ein psychoanalytischer Wegbereiter der Akzeptanz der Homosexualitat war.
