Where would we be as a profession if software developers actually designed security into their products? Think about it. Let's take it a step further. What if the entire computer industry took security seriously? What if the system designers, and electrical and software engineers all got together in one room and designed the operating system, the platform, and the application program interfaces that not only performed the necessary business, but were secure at the same time? Because I am dreaming, I may as well continue. What if they then put the OS source code out to the public to debug and find the security flaws? |
