In the Gåsborn area, Filipstad, south-central Sweden, native lead and tin occur in pyroxene-garnet skarns together with scheelite, cassiterite, In-bearing sphalerite, roquesite, galena, Pb-Bi-Cu- and Pb-Bi-Ag-sulfosalts, bismuthinite, native bismuth, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite, pyrite, loellingite, molybdenite, marcasite and cubanite. These skarns and accompanying mineralizations were formed in iron-ore bearing marbles under influence of hydrothermal fluids associated with the synvolcanic, high-level, anorogenic Ostra Hojden granite of the Bergslagen older granite suite. The presence of the same mineral association in the Långban mine, 10 km W of Gåsborn, suggests a likewise origin under influence of hydrothermal fluids related to granites of the Bergslagen older granite suite.
