A survey design was employed in evaluating the effectiveness of pre-practicum BSW students in one university program working with families within the community. The outcome yielded positive results indicating that families were assisted with their needs from students and students are gaining the ability to integrate knowledge and practice skills. After 32 families and 10 field instructors provided their feedback from a one-semester study, these results provided implications for this course as well as for additional study into the benefit/concerns of students practicing in the community prior to their senior field experience. |
