Studies were conducted to determine the optimum dietary requirements for isoleucine, leucine, and valine by catla fry, utilizaing purified dietary ingredients. Diets contained 40% crude protein. Weight gain was used as a criterion to elucidate the requirement, using regression analysis. Based on 8-week growth studies, catla fry were found to require isoleucine at 0.92% of the diet, leucine at 1.43% of the diet, and valine at 1.45% of the diet; when expressed as a percentage of dietary protein, these values correspond to 2.30%, 3.58%, and 3.63%, respectively.
