JSTOR is a not-for-profit organization with a dual mission to create and maintain a trusted archive of important scholarly journals, and to provide and extend access to these journals as widely as possible throughout the academic community. JSTOR is unique in offering researchers the ability to retrieve high-resolution, scanned images of journal issues and pages as they were originally designed, printed, and illustrated. Today, the JSTOR archive contains the complete back-runs of 169 journals and is available at more than 1,100 libraries in the U.S. and 51 other countries.
