Portions of the circulating collection of a small community college library were surveyed to determine if various periods of non-circulation could be used as predictors of future circulation. It was found that previously used books were more likely to be used again than unused books were to be used for the first time, and they also experienced more multiple circulations in a given period. But the likelihood of books being used for the first time does not reliably diminish with added years of non-circulation. |
