At the same time that community-based organizations have been called upon to address alcohol and other drug abuse (AOD) within a community perspective, they have been confronted with the need to provide services within a cultural context. This article will present a case study of one community-based organization's efforts to utilize natural support systems to reach youth-of-color involved with AOD. This article will provide administrators/planners with an understanding and appreciation of the key issues/challenges they will face in developing interventions seeking to involve natural support systems. |
