Meta-recovery, a model of recovery based on the principles of psychosynthesis, has been described as a process of moving beyond AA-based recovery through a synthesis of the addictive and recovering parts of the personality. Research with a group of eight recovering aiioholic womhn indicaks that employing he tbls of meta-recovery can result in a qualitative shift in recovery and movement toward a level of self-awareness, self-authorship, and self-expression beyond that experienced in AA. These changes own the opportunity for choice reading the continuing role of the fellowship of AA in long-term recovery for wanen. |
