Title: A Comparison between Image-processing Approaches to Textile Inspection
Author: Conci, A.

Year: 2000
Contents: Visual inspection is an important part of quality control in the textile industry. In order to increase accuracy, attempts are being made to replace manual inspection by automated visual inspections employing a camera and imaging routines. Process-accompanying image acquisition and automatic evaluation could form the basis for a system that ensures a very high degree of fabric quality control. However, a successful outcome for the implementation depends, to a large extent, on the specific approach chosen. This work compares the results of three image-processing approaches to manufacturing inspection and shows the relationship between the efficiency of each approach and the type of fabric fault.
