This paper highlights the major programs targeting military veterans and their dependants, and the survivors of deceased military service personnel and veterans in the United States. It identifies as a major area of concern in the 1990s and beyond the treatment of AIDS. It concludes that the United States offers a comprehensive system of social welfare services to these target groups, which together constitute nearly one-third of the United State's population. |
