Extremely varied responses to audio-visual erotica occur in the judgemental realm. Characteristics of both the viewer and the stimulus, influence individual evaluation and result in the assumption of diverse viewpoints concerning the desirability of erotica. The most relevant factors that influence subjective and individual evaluation are briefly discussed in the article. A model is developed to illustrate the role these interrelated factors play in any subjective evaluation process. It is concluded that the development and general application of more objective criteria in the evaluation of erotica is necessitated by the highly individualistic nature of subjective evaluation. |
