Title: Cyclodendron leslii (Seward) Krausel 1928 and associated palynomorphs in the Early Permian Reids Dome beds, Queensland, Australia
Author: Beeston, J. W.
Appeared in: Alcheringa
Paging: Volume 14 (1990) nr. 4 pages 325-330
Year: 1990
Contents: A stem of the lycopod Cyclodendron leslii (Seward) Krausel 1928 was found in a mudstone unit in the Reids Dome beds, cored in Queensland Department of Mines borehole Denison NS 175. Other bedding plane partings of the mudstone revealed numerous lycopod leaf and sporophyll fragments. Some of the latter contained compressed sporangia which variously yielded abundant megaspores of Srivastavaesporites subconatus sp. nov. and microspores of Indotriradites enormis (Segroves) Foster 1979. The palynomorphs have been previously assigned tentative lycopod affinities on the basis of spore morphology. A biological association is suggested.
