Critical behaviour of Kihara rod-like molecules

Title: Critical behaviour of Kihara rod-like molecules
Author: BOUBLIK, TOMAS
Appeared in: Molecular physics
Paging: Volume 95 (1998) nr. 2 pages 363-369
Year: 1998-10-10
Contents: The second-order perturbation theory of Kihara convex molecules is used to determine the dependence of the critical properties of the rod-like molecule fluids on the length-to-breadth ratio of molecular models. The calculated dependence of the critical temperature, compressibility factor, density and pressure in the reduced form is compared with the (reduced) experimental data of the first ten n-alkanes, and fair agreement is found. Theoretical results are compared with those obtained from studies of the critical behaviour of n-alkanes within the framework of the variant of the simplified first-order perturbation theory of chain molecules.
