Jaar: 1998-05
Inhoud: In the immediate post-Liberation period in Paris there was an explosion of creative and literary activity leading commentators to talk of a cultural Renaissance. Some literary periodicals that had existed prior to the Fall of France were compromised during the German Occupation and were proscribed at the Liberation, along with a number of intellectuals who had chosen Collaboration. Other titles appeared whose editors had been active during the phoney war, but who had then gone underground. Such is the case of Pierre Seghers, whose review Poesie 47 represents one of the major achievements of this Renaissance. This article relates the little-known history of this exciting publication, throwing into relief the tensions that existed between the editor's literary and political preoccupations.
