This paper reports on a national survey of Equal Opportunity Officers in higher education institutions in Australia. Equal Opportunity Officers were asked about their educational background and work experience, institutional roles, training and development needs, and views of the training and development needs of others in their institutions. The results have implications for emerging diplomas and degrees in equal opportunity practice and for staff development programmes: For Equal Opportunity Officers, for target groups and for those who are responsible for planning and implementing affirmative action and equal opportunity policies in their own departments or divisions of higher education institutions. |
