An efficient soil extraction method was developed to quantitatively study the recovery of a set of 6 selected amine and nitro aromatic compounds from soil. These six compounds are as following: 3-amino benzonitrile, 3-nitro benzonitrile, o-chloro aniline, nitrobenzene, 1-chloro 2-nitro benzene, 1-chloro 3-nitro benzene. Solid phase extraction was used in the clean-up and the trace enrichment steps of the soil extracts. A “zero soil”; in which possible interferences have been removed was used as reference and the recovery study was quantified by high performance liquid chromatography using ultraviolet detection. |
