The problematic nature of product design within bid preparation and related solution strategies have hardly been dealt with up to now. The intention of this paper is to analyze these activities and investigate their degree of integration within order handling. Furthermore, requirements regarding efficient support by information technology will be specified; a computerized system for the integration of bid preparation activities will be described; and a product modelling tool for use within bid preparation will be presented. |
