This paper reviews current practice in the application of concurrent engineering in design of counter-rotating twin-screw extruders, and outlines new progress in the development of expert knowledge to support capable twin-screw system design. A concept for the design of twin-screw extruders has been presented. Main features of competitive engineering design have been described. Fundamental issues of integrated engineering design and approaches to their solution have been characterized. |
