The new compound (R)-4-phenyl-2-O-[β-d-xylopyranosyl(1 → 6)-β-d-glucopyranosyl]butane (1) and its epimer (2), together with (R)-4-phenyl-2-O-β-d-glucopyranosyl butane (24) and (S)-4-phenyl-2-O-β-d-glucopyranosyl butane (25) were firstly synthesized from 4-phenylbutan-2-one and glucose. The absolute configuration of C-2 for 1 was confirmed as R. Their anti-tumour activities were evaluated. |
