A definition is given of the performance required from a device such as a multi-variable regulator or servomechanism, and sufficient conditions that, guarantee such performance are derived. These conditions are expressed in terms of the step responses and are useful in design. For a single-variable device, having the standard feedback structure, the sensitivity of the performance, to changes in a component of the structure, is studied. |
