The Asian Applied Psychology International-Regional Conference (AAPI-RC) was held in Bangkok from 14-16th November 2005 under the auspices of the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP), the International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS), and the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology (IACCP). The Conference was organized by Thammasat University and the Thai Psychological Association under the Conference Presidency of Ubolwanna Pavakanun. The Conference attracted a large number of Thai psychologists and students as well as a wide range of participants from 24 other countries, most from Thailand's near and far neighbours but others also from Europe and North America. Apart from the merits of its Scientific Program, the Conference had two important outcomes. One was to pave the way for the formation of a National Committee that will enable Thailand to become a member of the International Union of Psychological Science. The other was to facilitate the first Convention of the newly formed Asian Psychological Association in August 2006. Le Congres asiatique regional-international de psychologie appliquee s'est tenu a Bangkok du 14 au 16 novembre 2005 sous les auspices de l'Association internationale de psychologie appliquee (AIPA), de l'Union internationale de psychologie scientifique (UIPsyS) et de l'Association internationale de psychologie interculturelle (AIPI). Le congres a ete organise conjointement par l'Universite Thammasat et par l'Association thailandaise de psychologie, et il etait preside par la professeure Ubolwanna Pavakanun. Le congres a attire un grand nombre de psychologues thailandais et d'etudiants, ainsi qu'une tres grande variete de delegues en provenance de 24 pays, dont la plupart etaient des pays limitrophes ou voisins de la Thailande mais comprenant egalement des pays europeens et nord-americains. Mis a part les merites evidents de son programme scientifique, ce congres a livre deux resultats additionnels. Le premier a ete de jeter les bases de la constitution d'un Comite national devant permettre a la Thailande de devenir membre de l'Union internationale de psychologie scientifique ; le second, de faciliter la tenue en aout 2006 de la premiere rencontre de la toute nouvelle Association asiatique de psychologie. La Conferencia Asiatica Internacional-Regional de Psicologia Aplicada ha tenido lugar en Bangkok, del 14 al 16 de Noviembre de 2005, bajo los auspicios de la Asociacion Internacional de Psicologia Aplicada (IAAP), la Union Internacional de Psicologia Cientifica (IUPsyS) y la Asociacion Internacional de Psicologia Transcultural. Organizo la conferencia la Universidad Thammasat y la Thai Asociacion de Psicologia, bajo la presidencia de Ubolwanna Pacakanum. La Conferencia reunio un gran numero de psicologos Thai y de estudiantes, asi como numerosos delegados de otros 24 paises, muchos del entorno proximo o mas lejano de Tailandia, pero tambien otros procedentes de Europa y de Norteamerica. Dejando a un lado los valores propios de su programa cientifico, la conferencia tuvo ademas, dos importantes resultados. Uno ha sido el permitir la formacion de un Comite Nacional, que permitira a Tailandia integrarse como miembro en la IUPsyS. El otro ha sido hacer posible la reunion , en agosto de 2006, de la primera Convencion de la Asociacion de Psicologia Asiatica recientemente establecida.
