A new phase detector method which can detect the phase difference between two sinusoidal signals in one-fourth of a cycle is proposed. The phase difference is represented as a dc output voltage, and it can distinguish phase leading or phase lagging by using voltage polarity. Since no low-pass filter is used, its detection time is not more than one-fourth of a cycle. The detection time performance is superior to that of conventional phase detectors. |
