The properties of a rectangular waveguide junction partially filled with a dielectric slab are examined theoretically and experimentally. It is shown that over a frequency band 9-11 Gc/s the V.S.W.R. of the dielectric loaded junction exceeds 0·93 compared with 0·6 in the absence of the dielectric. Close agreement between experimental and theoretical results is obtained thus justifying certain simplifications made in the analysis. |
