An optimal control problem, for a class of distributed parameter systems, with a constraint on the input derivative, is posed. The constraint is a bound on the L2 norm of the input derivative. Existence of optimal controls is proved, and a non-linear integro-differential equation is derived to serve as a necessary and sufficient condition for the optimal controls to satisfy. Also, a computational scheme, for optimal controls, is suggested. |
