The EPR spectra of manganese ions in Pb(Zro.60 Tio.40)O3 solid solutions doped by MnO2 and La2O3 were measured. It was found that the manganese admixtures are present in the Pb(Zr, Ti)O3 in the valency states of Mn+4, Mn+3 and Mn+2 in dependence on MnO2 and La2O3 concentrations. The increase in lanthanum content results in a successive lowering of the manganese valency states (Mn+4 → Mn+3 → Mn+2). The EPR spectra of the series of Pb(Zr, Ti)O3 ceramics doped by XMnO2 = 0.015 mole and LaO1.5 ε <0;0.05> mole revealed the lowest concentration of both Mn+4 and Mn+2 ions at XLaO1.5 0.0075 mole. It was deduced therefore that the manganese is incorporated in Pb (Zr, Ti) O3 as Mn+3 at these conditions.
