This report gives a brief introduction of the experimental techniques used and the principle of pyrolysis-gas chromatography of coals. In view of the fact that the total production ratio of pyroly sis hydrocarbons from coal samples may occasionally be higher than that of Type III kerogen, it is concluded that not only gas fields but also oilfields can be discovered in the area of coal measures. This paper emphasizes the composition characteristics of the pyroly sates from different ranks of coal samples. The thermal evolution properties are also discussed according to progressive pyrolysis results obtained for a brown coal (lignite). |
