Contents: Polyphase linear induction motors with non-magnetic conducting wide secondaries are analyzed using field theory techniques. Thrust correction factors for longitudinal-end effects and transverse-edge effects are derived. Numerical results are presented for usual operating range. This paper is a convenient compendium of the major effects in linear induction motors.
