This investigation into student satisfaction with various aspects of the teaching system was carried out at a provincial university in the Spring of 1969. A sample of second-year students was selected and 70 per cent of those chosen returned completed questionnaires. The survey revealed that student satisfaction with the presentation and content of lectures was high. However, there were areas of dissatisfaction. Some students felt that there was not enough consultation with them concerning the content of courses. In addition, a quarter were dissatisfied with the amount of individual help they received from staff. However, it was the limited opportunity for informal contact with staff which proved to be the greatest source of student disquiet. |
