Authentic classical Haiku and painting studies on the web

Title: Authentic classical Haiku and painting studies on the web
Author: Saga, Hiroo
Appeared in: Educational media international
Paging: Volume 40 (2003) nr. 3-4 pages 331-337
Year: 2003-09
Contents: The author's Web site devoted to the poet-painter Yosa Buson (1716-1784) is divided into three sections: articles on Buson, bibliographic resources, and a pictorial catalogue of the haiku and paintings of Buson and his group. The site is mostly in both Japanese and English, for the convenience of overseas learners, and it receives an increasing number of hits from both Japan and abroad. Comments in the guest book and direct e-mails to the site author attest to its popularity. Access trends were analyzed, and in order to improve the structure and content of the site, a formative evaluation by college students has also been undertaken.
