Death education as a liberal art

Title: Death education as a liberal art
Author: Morgan, John D.
Appeared in: Death studies
Paging: Volume 8 (1984) nr. 5-6 pages 289-297
Year: 1984-10-01
Contents: The experience of seven years offering an interdisciplinary course in Thanatology has shown that death education, properly taught, is within the tradition of the liberal arts. It can effect the desired results of a liberal arts education, namely, mental discipline and cultural awareness, both for general undergraduates and for those in professional schools. Because of the importance of the topic in students' lives it is more successful in attaining the desired results of the liberal arts than previous methods.
