The object of this study was to examine the effects of in vivo systematic desensitization and systematic desensitization with symbolic modeling on college students who participated in counseling groups on death and dying. The design employed a three-factor mixed model; three treatments crossed with four leaders, with two groups nested within treatment and leader. Analysis of covariance was run on two immediate posttest questionnaires and on the follow-up questionnaire using pretests as covariates. No significant differences were found between the treatment groups and control groups as measured by the immediate posttests or the follow-up posttest. |
