Let fbe an entire function with non-negative Maclaurin coefficients and put [image omitted] . We investigate the relationship between the growth of b(r)and the multiplicity and location of the real values of f. Our simplest result is the following: If lim sup r → ∞b(r) < 0.5 then, for each real w, all but a finite number of the roots of the equation f(z) = w are simple, real and negative. Furthermore, this result is best possible. |
