Ahlfors generalized Schwarz' lemma from analytic functions to ultrahyperbolic metrics on hyperbolic Riemann surfaces. Heins extended Ahlfors' lemma to SK metrics. For simply connected hyperbolic Riemann surfaces we obtain a refinement of Ahlfors' lemma by incorporating a term involving the area of the surface relative to the SK mectric. |
