A modified procedure for routine determination of soil organic matter is described. The procedure employs a wet combustion method of reducing the carbon in soil organic matter with dichromate in an acid media. The modification will permit 700-800 organic matter determinations per day with samples containing less than 8% 0M without undue difficulty. |
