A new genus, Kirrama from Queensland is erected. The adults of the following new species are described: Kirrama abolos (♂), Leptoperta angularis (♀), L. collessi (♂, ♀), L. commoni (♂, ♀), L. magnicauda (♂, ♀) and L. uptoni (♂, ♀) from Queensland, L albicincta (♂, ♀) from Victoria, L. rieki (♂, ♀), L. smithersi (♂, ♀) and Kimminsoperla mcalpinei (♂, ♀) from New South Wales, Riekoperla naso (♂, ♀) from South Australia. Descriptions of hitherto unknown opposite sexes are given of: Leptoperla australica (Enderlein) (♂), L tasmanica Kimmins (♀), Kimminsoperla albomacula (Kimmins)(♀), K. hystrix Illies (♀). By presentation of fresh material of L. tasmanica from mainland Australia the male is refigured, and it is established that L. tasmanica can not be considered any longer to be a junior synonym of L. beroë Newman. The description of Kimminsoperla hystrix (♂) is revised and complemented.
