The urinary androstanediol was determined in cases of idiopatic hirsutism by means of GLC. The determination was carried out on urines of 9 women before the beginning of a treatment with placebo and after three and six months of estrogen treatment. The initial range of values was between 39 and 99 μg/24h; at the end of the treatment the values ranged between 13 and 25 μg/24 h. The yield of the whole procedure of determination was 70% and the detection limit was about 0.2 μg of androstanediol in urine. |
